Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

Vidling ("Vidling", "we", "us") is a service of 12N Labs that helps parents curate the video their children watch. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We designed Vidling to be privacy-first and to align with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regimes.

No accounts or sign-in in this version

Vidling does not currently require creating an account or signing in — the app runs entirely on your device. A parent or legal guardian (18+) sets up child profiles locally on the device and approves the channels their child can watch, protected by a parent PIN. Children do not create accounts, log in, or provide information to us directly. If a future version adds optional account sign-in, we will update this policy before that launches.

Information we collect

Almost everything below is stored locally on your device. The only information that reaches Vidling is the safety-report data described in "Safety reports and blocked content."

From the parent

  • Your approved channels, settings and preferences — stored on your device, not on our servers.

The app does not collect an email address, an account, or billing details. If you subscribe to Vidling on our website, vidling.app, that purchase is handled there by Stripe, separately from the app — see "Service providers we use" below.

About a child profile

  • A profile name or nickname, age, and optionally a language and interests you choose, to personalize the curated feed — stored on your device.

We ask parents not to include a child's real full name or other identifying details in a profile. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from or about a child than is reasonably necessary to provide the service.

Automatically

  • Safety reports & channel blocks. When you report a video or Block & report a channel, we collect the video and channel identifiers, the reason selected, the action taken, the date and time, the app version, and an anonymous installation identifier — see "Safety reports and blocked content" below. This is the only data the app sends to us.

The app does not include product-analytics or crash-reporting tools, does not create a user or account identifier, and does not include advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. In-app search only filters the channels and videos already on your device and is never transmitted to us. If we add analytics, crash reporting, or other automatic data collection in a future version, we will describe it here first. (Our marketing website and quiz funnel use separate cookies and advertising-measurement tools — see "Cookies & tracking" — these are not part of the app.)

How we use information

  • To provide and operate Vidling: whitelists, automated channel/content checks based on available signals (such as metadata and transcripts), and the curated feed — processed on your device.
  • To investigate objectionable content, prevent abusive creators from appearing in Vidling, respond to safety reports, and improve our content filters.
  • To process subscriptions and payments made on our website.
  • To improve, secure and support the service.
  • To communicate with you if you contact our support.

YouTube

Vidling works with content from third-party platforms. Our use of YouTube data is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and by using those features you also agree to be bound by them. Information handled through YouTube API Services is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Content available on these platforms is owned by the respective platforms and creators; Vidling provides a curation and trust layer only.

Safety reports and blocked content

You can report (flag) any video, and Block & report any channel, from within the app. Reporting a video immediately hides it from your child's feed; blocking a channel immediately removes all of that creator's videos from your child's feed. Both actions send a safety report to the Vidling team so we can review it.

A safety report contains only: the video and channel identifiers, the reason selected, the action taken (report or block), the date and time, the app version, and an anonymous installation identifier. We do not collect a child's name or any free-form message when you submit a report.

We use this information to investigate objectionable content, prevent abusive creators from appearing in Vidling, respond to safety concerns, and improve our content filters. We review safety reports and act within 24 hours, including removing the reported content or channel from the Vidling catalog and, where warranted, permanently excluding the responsible channel. We retain reports only as long as reasonably necessary for moderation, security, legal compliance, and preventing repeated abuse; you may request earlier deletion by contacting vidling@agentmail.to.

Cookies & tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics (to understand how the site is used) and advertising measurement (to see whether our ads are effective). You can control cookies through your browser settings. This advertising/measurement tracking runs only on our website and quiz funnel — it is not present inside the app or in child profiles.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small number of trusted providers. They process data on our behalf under agreements that limit their use of it to providing the service to us:

  • Stripe — processes subscription payments made on our website, vidling.app (not inside the app). Subject to the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog — analytics and advertising-measurement cookies on our marketing website and quiz funnel only, not inside the app. Subject to the PostHog Privacy Policy. See "Cookies & tracking" above.

The app itself does not currently send data to any backend, analytics, crash-reporting, or payment provider — see "Information we collect" above. If we introduce in-app accounts, payments, analytics, or a safety-report backend, we will name the relevant providers here before any data reaches them.

These providers may store and process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above, under contracts that limit their use of it, or where required by law. We do not share personal information with advertising networks or data brokers.

Data retention & security

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law, and we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it.

Your rights & choices

  • Delete a child profile and its data at any time from within the app.
  • Uninstall the app at any time to remove all data stored on your device.
  • Request deletion of a safety report you submitted.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at vidling@agentmail.to. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

If you or your child encounter content you believe is inappropriate, you can report it in the app or contact us — see our Terms of Service for our full content policy.

Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases: to perform our contract with you (providing the service and processing subscriptions); your consent (where we ask for it, such as optional cookies on our website); and our legitimate interests in securing, supporting and improving the service. You can withdraw consent or object to processing at any time.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Vidling is intended to be set up and operated by parents. We rely on the parent's consent for any information associated with a child profile, collect only what is reasonably necessary, and give parents the ability to review and delete that information. If you believe we have collected information from a child without proper parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date.
